Previous Image Next day 2 - Oamaru to Dunedin

After a quick breakfast we head out (through much nicer
weather) towards Duntroon, where we made our way SW over the
gorgeous Dansey Pass.  After passing through stunningly green
river valleys and stopping to chase sheep, we explored a little
side road, which wasn't much more than a strip of slightly less
high grass.  Reached Naseby in early afternoon, then continued S
towards Paerea, where the ditch which couldn't possibly be road we
were looking for turned out to be the road we were looking for.
Getting increasingly cold as we climbed the suddenly desolate
landscape, we were greeted by hail and an enormous rock at the
summit.  The descent eventually brought green, rolling landscape
and hills covered in sheep, then some of the best paved roads of
the trip as we made our way into Dunedin for the night.
